The Irish newspaper has launched an emoji challenge to identify the best emoji.
It said the challenge was to recognise “the emotion, the nuance and the beauty” of each emoji, in addition to the standard set out by the Unicode Consortium (UC).

Emblem for Irish flag and national anthem, emblem for Ireland, emblems for countries and flags, emblem and flag for a country, emblem, flag, emblem flag and flag, Irish national emblem, Ireland flag, Irish anthem, Irish flag, the Irish national anthem and the Irish flag emblems are the only ones that can be recognised by a smartphone user.
The Irish Times said the competition will run from July 24-29.
“As a reminder, all these emoji have to be designed using a simple colour palette.
It is not just the colour of the glyphs that counts, it also has to be a shade of blue, red, green, white or magenta,” the newspaper said.
The emoji challenge was first launched in April 2015 and has attracted a huge number of entries from users around the world.
The winner will receive €1,500 and the chance to design the next set of emoji, according to the newspaper.
